Impregnated wood

English to impregnate ( from lat. impregnare ) - saturate, saturate.

Impregnated wood is wood impregnated with a special compound to prevent rotting and other decomposition under the influence of the environment.

The service life of impregnated wood is practically unlimited.

Oily liquids, creosote, as well as arsenic and chromium compounds are NOT USED for impregnation.

After processing the wood DOESN'T SMELL and DOES NOT PUT. It is not harmful to the health of people and pets.

Currently, impregnated wood is produced in two shades: greenish and brown.

The impregnation process is carried out in hermetically closed chambers. Dried wood products are placed in a chamber where a vacuum is generated in a computer controlled way. After that, a special compound penetrating deep into the wood is fed into the chamber. After a certain time, the excess liquid from the chamber is removed and a vacuum is created there again. Vacuum-dried finished products are removed from the chamber and packaged for shipment to consumers.

When should I use impregnated wood?

In Russian weather conditions, the environment exposes the exterior wooden structures and buildings to a large load. In the presence of moisture, heat and oxygen, ordinary wood rots and quickly becomes useless. This usually causes significant additional costs, and often can lead to dangerous, even tragic consequences.

The biological decomposition of non-impregnated wood begins as soon as its moisture rises above 18%. In practice, in external constructions this indicator often reaches 20–25%, and in those in direct contact with the ground, it exceeds 30%. For this reason, in all exterior wooden structures and structures, only products made of impregnated wood should be used.

Only impregnated wood ensures compliance with the requirements for wooden products used in outdoor structures.

Paints, varnishes and other means of protection applied to the surface of products do not provide effective and long-term protection against rotting. Impregnated wood is about 5 times longer than normal, and does not require constant updating of the paintwork.

Whenever wooden structures are supposed to come into contact with soil or water, as well as in places exposed to precipitation, use only impregnated wood!

Environmental friendliness, quality and certification

Impregnated wood is an environmentally friendly product. For the impregnation of wood and no longer used arsenic and chromium compounds. Impregnated wood is not harmful to humans and pets.

Unlike creosote and oily liquids, modern impregnation agents do not emit toxic volatile substances and do not smell.

Before using a new impregnating agent, it is subject to mandatory thorough testing at the Finnish Environment Office . The test examines the effect of the substance on the health of people and animals, identifies risks to the environment, and also establishes its effectiveness and suitability for use for its intended purpose.

The use of impregnated wood due to its durability can significantly save forest resources.

Impregnated wood production in Finland is under strict state control.

All products manufactured at the Kuusisto Group plants and supplied to Russia comply with the European standard EN 351. Quality control is carried out by the State Technical Research Center (VTT), which is the leading independent expert organization in the country, and the Finnish Standardization Association (SFS).

The norms of the European standard EN 351 are not inferior to the requirements of the relevant Russian standards and technical conditions.
