In ancient Athens, during any celebrations, it was customary to wear wreaths of violets. And on a certain day of spring, all children over three years old covered their heads with such wreaths as a sign of their innocence.

In antiquity, poppy was considered a necessary flower, bringing fertility. He was presented to the fertility goddess Demeter to send a good harvest. Athletes, preparing for the Olympic Games, ate poppy with honey, and the Persians added it to food.

Even in ancient times, almost all nations organized festivals in honor of various flowers. Many holidays have come down to our times. They all acquired a slightly different character and meaning. Only one thing remained unchanged - the love of flowers!
