Everyone who thought about repairing the walls or the ceiling heard about drywall. It is usually used for leveling curved surfaces, creating interior partitions and various structures. However, all believe that to work you need to create a special design of metal profiles. In fact, you can mount drywall on walls without a frame, but this is not possible in all situations.
If possible, then you need to abandon the creation of the frame in favor of other methods of fixing drywall. The selection of guides, marking the walls under them, their fixation and other aspects of working with profiles cause major difficulties in repairing the wall with the use of drywall.

Intuitive process of fixing plasterboard to glue
I would like not to use guides, if possible. However, this is not always the case. In what situations it is possible to reduce the amount of work, abandoning the creation of crates?
With the coincidence of both points, it makes sense to think about the frameless method of fastening GCR. Not only time is saved, but also space in the room, because the installation of a profile steals at least 5 centimeters.
The ideal situation would be when the house has smooth wooden walls. Then you can mount the drywall without a frame on the screws , which are very easy to enter the tree.
When it comes to the frameless method of fixing drywall, then consider the option with a special adhesive mixture. This mixture is applied to the sheet, which with its help is attached to the wall. Therefore, the surface of the wall must be carefully prepared.
These four steps will lead to the fact that the cladding of walls with drywall without a frame will be as efficient as possible. Further work should be started only after the primer is completely dry.
Installing drywall on a wall without a frame is possible if you use high-quality adhesive mixture. It is best to buy dry mixes that are diluted with water. As such, they are stored longer and can not be used immediately. It is necessary to choose glue on a plaster basis, because it is with the help of such a mixture that drywall is most strongly fixed to the wall.
The “Knauf-Perlfiks” adhesive is usually used, but you can choose another mixture that has these qualities:
In order to mount the drywall onto the walls without a frame, you need to successfully knead the adhesive according to the package instructions. It is also worth considering that the mixture must be worked out within 30 minutes, so no need to try to use the entire bag at once.
For mixing the glue is best to use a drill with a special nozzle mixer.
When the solution is mixed to the consistency of a very thick cream, it can be applied. Someone puts it on the wall, but this is not very correct. It is best to lay out the adhesive composition on the back side of the drywall sheet. So the material will spread evenly over the surface and all will be used. It makes sense to apply glue to the wall if the work is done independently (in order not to make the gypsum board even harder).
When the walls are finished with drywall without a frame, it is very important to apply the solution in an even layer so as not to create curvature on the wall. Therefore, each time you need to dial the same amount of mortar per trowel for applying to the sheet of drywall. For this purpose, you can use the construction bucket. Then it will come out as evenly as possible to apply glue.
Priming, mixing the adhesive and applying it to the gypsum board
The solution is applied to the sheet in small groups at a distance of 30-50 cm from each other. It is necessary to place the adhesive composition on the perimeter, and then another strip along the sheet in the center. Alone the sheet can not be lifted, because it has become too heavy for this. Such attempts may cause the drywall to simply crack .
The sheet is applied to the wall and pressed lightly. You do not need to strongly press in one place, because the GCR will then fall not exactly. The sheet should not rest on the floor, but on pegs or drywall trim. It is necessary to leave a gap with a floor of about 1 cm. The same indents should be made from the ceiling and side walls. Between the sheets of a gap of 1-2 mm is enough. This is done so that in the case of a small deformation of the drywall there is room to expand, and it does not arch.
The evenness of each sheet is checked by level.
Before you sheathe the walls with drywall without a frame, you will need to get a long level. With it, you can always determine how smoothly laid GCR.
The protruding seats knock gently with a rubber mallet to level the surface. After that, the presence of curvature is determined by the level, not only horizontally and vertically, but also diagonally.
The remaining sheets are set similarly and leveled at the first. Laying sheets should be on the principle of brickwork, performing the so-called ligation of the seams.
Work can be carried out without the use of adhesives using self-tapping screws. Such a procedure can be carried out without prior surface preparation. Fixing plasterboard to the wall without a frame with self-tapping screws can be carried out only in the case of a perfect wall that does not need alignment.
In this method, a large role is played by the material from which the wall is made. It can be concrete, brick, made of foam blocks, etc. If the screws are easily screwed in, you can simply lean the drywall against the wall and immediately fix it. If the screw does not enter the surface, you will have to go for a trick.
You can safely mount the drywall on a brick wall without a frame with screws. This surface should be flat, so you can fasten the sheets directly to the wall without additional preparation. The screw is difficult to twist into a brick, but it is possible. Just have to make a little effort.
With a concrete base or any other, in which the screws do not twist, to attach the drywall on the wall without a frame on the screws can only be using mounting foam. To do this, the sheet is applied to the working surface and several holes are drilled in it along with the wall. 10-15 holes should be evenly distributed throughout the sheet.
Dowels are hammered into the wall, and then the plasterboard is planted on the screws. It is necessary to screw them in not until the very end, but leave a small gap of 1-2 cm between the sheet and the wall. So the whole wall is mounted, and then it is leveled to one level. At the same time, you can block small drops on the surface.
Now on the entire flat surface of the drywall with a drill, holes are made of such a diameter that the nozzle of the nozzle tube from the foam canister enters into them. About 15-25 holes are made per sheet, which are evenly distributed over its entire surface. From the edges you need to retreat 10-15 centimeters.
Speaking foam then carefully cut off with a knife
Before you install the drywall to the wall without a frame using this method, you will need to buy a low-expansion foam. Otherwise, it will swell up strongly and twist the drywall. Foam is blown into the holes made in small quantities. It will expand and will serve as a reliable mounting of drywall to the wall.
It must be remembered that regardless of the chosen method of fastening, it will be necessary to take care of sealing the seams with the help of putty and reinforcing tape.
