Baroque style appeared in the seventeenth century. After several decades of simplicity in the decoration of rooms, humanity has returned to sophistication, magnificence and luxury. In addition, the new style was filled with complexity, theatricality and unpredictability. Here, the intricacy, contrast, heightened emotionality overshadowed the rigor, symmetry and straightforwardness of the Renaissance style forms.
In most cases, the features of Baroque as a style were manifested in the stucco and beautiful decoration of ceilings and walls.
The walls were decorated with elements of orders, mainly pilasters, modeling; painting them in lush, rich frames with cartouches, garlands, and ornaments was included in their processing. Natural and partly artificial polychrome polished marbles were used as a cladding material. Marble slabs and floors were laid. Frames of doors, dedeportations and crowning cornices were especially spectacular. Armchairs, chairs, stools had chiseled legs in the form of balusters or most often were twisted: these legs were joined by projectiles. Poland achieved the effect of decorative upholstery, attached with copper nails with large caps.
The design of the tables was relatively simple. The legs were twisted or had the form of balusters. The surface of the tables are often covered with tablecloths. Receive development and desks and bureaus with numerous drawers. Beds retain the old type with a canopy and curtains falling down.
Cabinet type of furniture, called the cabinet, was usually made of imported black ebony, the doors were inlaid with rosewood, cedar and other rocks. The premises were decorated with tapestries, nap carpets-savoneri, poured on the floor, silk fabrics, draperies and tablecloths, silverware, which became more widespread and significant over time.
