At the beginning of the last century, avant-gardists in their attempts to create something new all the time “came across” something that had already been created by someone earlier and reflected, for example, in ancient cultures of China or India, Sumerian manuscripts or sculptures of Mesopotamia. And it became clear that if you go along the path of some borrowing and combining an existing one, you can create something new and interesting. Modern art design mixes western and eastern, old and new - art deco with hi-tech and ethno, that is, the interiors of the beginning of the third millennium are extremely multicomponent in their stylistic composition.
Historical styles, such as Classicism and Empire, Baroque and Modern, are most often mixed, and as a result there are compositions where things in the interior are harmoniously combined without contradicting each other. But sometimes the mixing of styles is in the nature of a risky experiment, where elements of different styles are deliberately contrasted, “colliding” with each other. And unexpectedly, the mixing of elements belonging to different epochs and trends in art in an extraordinary proportions becomes a single whole, parts of which form an amazing harmony, creating a completely unique, bright and individual style.
The whole image of such a house is built on contradictions: samples of the most varied painting coexist remarkably - from canvases by old masters to works created by the hands of the owners or their children; modern upholstered furniture is adjacent, for example, with an old chest of drawers or an armchair that has survived several historical eras. It is worth noting that in an environment where stylistically different objects are mixed, it is very important to focus on the details, because it is the details that unite things that are so different in character.
