TECHNOLOGY OF PRODUCTION OF MALAR WORKS.7. Types of wallpaper used

By pasting the room with wallpaper, you can start after it has completed all the painting with water and oil formulations. Surfaces for painting should be smooth and dry. It is impossible to stick wallpaper on damp and not sufficiently dried surfaces, so they will peel off, stains and mold will appear on them. It is not recommended to stick wallpaper directly on a wooden surface, as drying wood will tear the wallpaper. Such surfaces before pasting should be covered with calico or serpyanka soaked in paste.

To systematize the varieties of wallpaper, their conditional classification was introduced, including the type of surface, water resistance, density and decor.

By the appearance of the surface : the wallpaper is smooth, with a relief pattern or with a deeply extruded pattern.

On water resistance : ordinary (not withstand wet wiping), waterproof (wet wiping without detergents) and wallpaper washable (allow the use of detergents).

By density : light with a density of up to 100 g / m2, heavy (density up to 150 g / m2) and multi-layered fabric (density over 150 g / m2).

The decor : smooth monochrome wallpaper with an abstract pattern or without it, wallpaper with a repeating pattern, requiring adjustment of the strips on the label and wallpaper with a non-repeating pattern that requires special adjustment of the stripes.

Pasting of walls with wall-paper is usually carried out after all other painting works, except for the last painting of joinery. One of the main distinguishing features of the wallpaper - the material from which they are made. Used paper, including two-layer wallpaper, vinyl coated with solid and foamed vinyl, silk-screen printing, velor, textile, glass wall-paper and liquid wallpaper. Velor and textile wallpapers are the most beautiful, but also the most expensive, except that they are easily scratched, absorb odors and cannot be washed, therefore they are used extremely rarely.

The wallpapers are smooth, shiny, light and with a fine texture that require careful implementation of the base, since all the existing irregularities are pro- set foot after wallpapering. Embossed wallpaper can hide small irregularities of walls and ceilings.

Paper wallpapers are currently made by several methods. The method of high printing is still preserved - primer and paint are applied on the paper. Such wallpaper quickly get dirty, the paint is erased and faded TECHNOLOGY OF PRODUCTION OF MALAR WORKS.7. Types of wallpaper used TECHNOLOGY OF PRODUCTION OF MALAR WORKS.7. In the intaglio method, paper is painted on alcohol in several layers, due to which a multi-color pattern is obtained on the wallpaper; Such wallpaper can last more than 5 years. Paper wallpapers are good in low humidity living areas. It is impossible to wash paper wallpapers, paper absorbs smells well and stably, especially the smell of tobacco.

More durable wallpaper, made by the method of duplex printing. The wallpaper is made of two layers of paper, on the top layer is embossed. Thanks to this technology, after sticking wallpaper onto a wall, the embossing remains noticeable, is not smoothed out as on single-layer wallpaper, the pattern is applied to them with special light-fast paint, therefore they are not afraid of the sun's rays. The outer layer in such wallpaper is often covered with a thin layer of latex, it makes the wallpaper waterproof, they can be wiped with a damp cloth, but when washing with a brush you can scratch or tear off the topcoat.

Paper wallpaper are ordinary and moisture-resistant, the latter with a polyvinyl acetate or silicone coating during operation is allowed to wipe with a damp cloth. Ordinary wallpaper is used for pasting the walls of residential rooms and premises of this type. Moisture-resistant wallpaper is used for pasting the walls of the corridors and halls of residential apartments, as well as the walls of cultural and community and public buildings. Various synthetic adhesives of the type of bustilat are used for the sticker of wallpaper, which are prepared centrally and delivered to construction sites in a sealed container.

Velor wallpaper resembles velvet fabric in appearance. They consist of two layers: the lower layer — paper, the upper — with a very short synthetic nap. Wall-paper is durable; during operation they can be washed with a brush.

Vinyl wallpapers have several varieties. They can be made of foamed vinyl and be porous, in the manufacture of solid vinyl, they become dense. All types of vinyl linings are environmentally friendly, a variety of species with specific application is based on the amount of vinyl applied. With a small amount of vinyl (up to 20%), the wallpaper can only be wiped with a damp cloth, with an increase in the composition of the vinyl - even with a brush.

Ordinary vinyl wallpaper with applied and fixed pattern has a porous structure and is well breathable. Corrugated wallpaper - in them foamed vinyl is applied on a paper base. Wall-paper well hide surface roughness. The disadvantage is that they cannot be washed with a brush.

Wall -paper under coloring - a specific type of wall-paper with a fibrous basis on which apply the made foam vinyl. Due to the porous structure, the wallpaper does not deform when glued, and no air bubbles form under them. This wallpaper is dense, durable, almost not torn, their main purpose - to align or visually smooth down, hide the irregularities of the wall. This is a fashionable way to finish the walls, repainting such wallpaper is valid up to 15 times.

Solid vinyl wallpapers have high strength, high vinyl content (50 ... 60%), they can be washed with a rag and a brush. They are poorly breathable, do not absorb moisture, odors, they can be used in rooms with any level of humidity with a sticker on waterproof glue. Optimal use - baths, kitchens and corridors.

Silk - screen printing - hard vinyl on a paper basis. These wallpapers look very similar to silk fabric. This effect is achieved by small embossing. Wallpapers can be washed with a brush using detergents, stains on the surface can be removed using a solvent.

Glass fiber wallpaper (fiberglass wallpaper) - a dense material. Its basis is made of fiberglass filament, which is made from natural environmentally friendly raw materials: quartz sand, soda and lime. Glass fiber fireproof, stick them to the surface with special adhesives (on busilate or PVA glue). From above glass wall coverings for 2 ... 3 times paint (oil or water emulsion), and they withstand up to 25 repainting. The coating is durable, with high waterproofing properties, with high-quality coating on the surface, the service life can be 15 ... 20 years. Glass fiber is applicable for pasting walls in the bathroom, hallway and kitchen.

Liquid wallpaper - a decorative plaster, a dry mixture of glue and solid fillers, most often natural cellulose fiber. The mixture is stirred in water in a predetermined proportion and then the resulting composition is applied to the surface with a spatula or a conventional roller. Apply the composition preferably in two layers, it turns out a rough surface from white to dark violet.

Immediately before applying decorative plaster, the surface must be covered with a layer of oil paint so that no drying paint, rust or mildew will come out. It should be borne in mind that the wall from corner to corner must be covered with material from one batch, otherwise the wall may have a spotty color.

The advantage of liquid wallpaper - do not require careful alignment of the walls under the pasting, as under the paper wallpaper. Dry wallpaper for at least two days. Apply liquid wallpaper to the surface with a wide spatula. The color gamut of liquid wallpaper is limited - they are white or beige with black blotches, but produce a variety of color additives to expand the color palette. The more dye is added, the richer the color will be.

Liquid wallpaper after the final drying can be coated with clear varnish in one or two layers. After this treatment, the wallpaper becomes waterproof and can be used in bathrooms. The coating has high strength and insulating properties, the service life can reach 10 ... 15 years.
