TECHNOLOGY OF PRODUCTION OF MALAR WORKS.8. Sticker Paper Wallpaper

Wallpapering the walls. The preparation of the walls for wallpapering is carried out after painting the ceilings and the first painting of joinery. The surface is cleaned with glass sandpaper from all runes and possible contamination. Rough surfaces carefully smooth, partially or completely spat and then paste over with newspapers or other paper waste paper. Preferably, the surfaces should be fixed with glue soap maker or liquid glue to better connect the paper and wallpaper with the wall surface. Waste paper does not glue the walls lined with sheets of gypsum plaster, gypsum-concrete partitions, reinforced concrete wall panels and other types and types of factory-made walls with a smooth and even surface. A layer of glue is applied to the prepared base with a stiff brush with short bristles. While the surface is primed in this way, the wallpaper is prepared. Wall-paper for a separate room is selected according to shades, panels are cut to the height of rooms so that the edges of the wallpaper, when joined on the wall, create a general pattern. Wallpaper stick in the direction of light (Fig. 12.5), i.e. from window to door, therefore, depending on the direction of the label, trim the edges on one side or the other. The joint of the wallpaper is carried out above the door and above the window, where it is not striking.

When wallpapering wooden surfaces, they must first be upholstered with a damp cloth, which will be stretched when dried. Such a surface is optimal for sticking wallpaper, as the stretched fabric will dampen possible deformations from alternate drying and swelling of wood. It is impossible to glue fresh plastered surface with wallpaper, the alkaline phase present in the plaster will quickly appear on the surface of the wallpaper in the form of stains. Glued surfaces during the work and until complete drying must be protected from exposure to sunlight and drafts.

Wallpapering ceilings. Start pasting the room with wallpaper needed from the ceiling. There is much in common in the technology of wallpapering walls and ceilings, but it is more difficult to glue over the ceiling, and the work requires a lot of physical effort. For wallpapering, modern synthetic wallpaper adhesives, “Bustilat” or PVA glue can be used. It is recommended for works to apply wallpaper of light tones with an inconspicuous pattern that does not require the selection of panels.

To avoid gaps, apply glue to the ceiling and adjacent walls with a roller. It is recommended to stick wallpaper with stripes from the window to the opposite wall. Each panel must have a ceiling length plus overlaps of up to 10 cm on each side of the adjacent walls. In this case, on the outer wall (with a window) and the wall opposite to it, you first need to glue the trimming of wallpaper with a width of 10 ... 15 cm, of which 10 cm on the wall, the rest is on the adjacent portion of the ceiling. After that, the first panel is glued from the ladder along the windows. Initially, the cloth is pressed in the upper part of one wall, guided to the ceiling, spread along the entire length along the window across the entire width of the room, smoothing the angle of the opposite wall, the rest of the cloth is smoothed onto the wall. The following panel is pasted overlapped onto the uncut edge of the previously glued using a similar technology.
