3 COLOR CIRCLE

  3 COLOR CIRCLE

The twelve parts of the color wheel consist of primary, or first-order colors, composite (or second-order colors) and complex (or third-order colors) and their specific shades. Three base colors on the color wheel are red, yellow and blue. The three primary colors form an equilateral triangle inside the circle. Three composite colors — orange, purple, and green — are located between the respective primary colors and form another triangle. Red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet and red-violet are six complex colors. They arise from the mixing of primary and composite colors.

  3 COLOR CIRCLE

The correct color wheel, in which each color has its place, and their sequence is of the order that in a rainbow or in the natural spectrum, makes it easy to find harmonious color combinations.
