To create a Japanese interior in your home, you need an understanding of the culture of this mysterious country, a special perception of the world, which is reflected in home improvement. Such an interior is almost always minimalist - and this often conceals a philosophical meaning.
Simple, functional and elegant interior. The main idea of the Japanese interior is harmony and closeness to nature. The materials are mostly natural. Fabrics: silk and cotton.

The main element of the interior of the premises are two - three wall niches. One of these niches, the “niche of beauty”, which played a special traditional role and measured in one mat (tokonoma), was decorated with decorative scrolls, a vase for flowers, and figurines of religious content. The remaining niches replaced cabinets, they had sliding doors or open rhythmically placed shelves.

With the almost complete absence of furniture (hence the special severity of the internal appearance of the house), the main element was the light tones of wood wall covering and the ceiling, sometimes covered with carvings on beams, softened colors of movable partitions, screens. The floors were covered with thick mats. The custom of the Japanese to rest, squatting or on their knees on soft floor mats (which they slept on), led to the absence of furniture that we were used to. Low tables, small lockers, rare chairs (mostly only for noble persons) limited the home environment.

The interiors of Japanese houses were complemented by works of art and applied art. The fine art of secular content was represented by scrolls with ink painting and water colors with landscape motifs, images of plants, flowers, birds, animals, inscriptions. Embroidery but silk, lacquered caskets with plots and ornamental compositions, porcelain - vases, tea sets were distributed among the products of applied art. When processing the products of applied art, which were made of wood, caskets, boxes and others, ivory and mother-of-pearl inlays were used, and gilding was introduced.
