Mini greenhouse

Mini-greenhouses include gardens in bottles, in glass cases and green terrariums. Each of them is a transparent glass or plastic vessel (the shape is arbitrary), inside which plants are planted. Air access to such a garden is restricted (bottleneck) or completely blocked (terrariums are covered with a lid). As a result, there are no drafts inside and a humid microclimate is created that is favorable for growing tender and capricious plants that hardly endure harsh indoor conditions.

In mini-greenhouses it is best to plant compact plants with small leaves. Here you will be free to tender ferns, marante, calathea, cryptanus, acorus, pilie, fittonia, ficus dwarf, selaginella, from flowering plants - bougainvillea and small orchid. The humid climate is not at all suitable for cacti and other succulents, inhabitants of the desert, it is also not recommended to plant fast-growing species in mini-greenhouses - it will be too difficult to care for them. After landing, cover the terrarium with glass and place it in a well-lit place, but away from direct sunlight. If the glass is steaming for a few hours, open the lid slightly, but the rest of the time it should be closed. Caring for such a garden is simple: remove dead and diseased leaves and occasionally, water the plants several times a month. The terrarium can be provided with lighting and heating, with which you will adjust the light and temperature conditions.

Some fans of indoor gardening like to arrange a so-called garden in a bottle. However, any other transparent glass vessels, for example, aquariums, cans, or even large and capacious glasses of unusual shape, are perfect for its placement. Living plants under glass, surrounded by bright pebbles, fancy shells and other decorative “stuff” look very impressive and can be used as an original decoration of any interior, and as an unusual gift suitable for any occasion.

Flower arrangement in a glass vessel can be ordered from a professional phytodesigner, or you can do it yourself. Of course, this is not as easy as it may seem at first glance, and you will have to put a lot of effort into settling the plants into glass “apartments,” but the result will surely meet all expectations. It is important only to choose the planting material for the composition and then properly care for the plants. Actually, caring for plants planted under glass is minimized, as they can do without additional watering for a long time.
