Special concreting methods. 4. Method of concrete mixture tamping

The ramming of the concrete mix (Fig. 9.4) begins with the creation of a concrete island in one of the corners of the concrete structure when the mixture is fed through a pipe or in tubs with an opening bottom. The island should rise above the water surface not less than 30 cm. For concrete tamping, a concrete mixture with a mobility of 5 ... 7 cm is used. New portions of the concrete mix are rammed into the island evenly with an intensity that does not disrupt the curing process of the laid concrete, and no closer than 20 ... 30 cm from the water's edge. This technique provides protection against contact with water of new portions of the concrete mix.

The method is used with a water depth of up to 1.5 m for constructions of large areas with a concrete class up to B25.

All requirements for the features of the use of the above-mentioned special methods of concreting are given in the appropriate section of SNiP 3.03.01-87 "Bearing and safety structures"
