5 Stage Creative Search

The stage of creative search is the central structural link in the chain of a single creative process of architectural design. The search for the idea and design of the project decision is based primarily on the information obtained by the student from the program and the methodological stage. The insufficiency of this information for purposeful creative action is compensated through the apparatus of intuition and the accompanying emotions. It is emotion and intuition, along with experience, skill and mastery of technology, that are the driving force behind the search and the source of conjecture leading to a solution.

The basis of the creative process of the AP lies primarily in the concentration of volitional efforts aimed at setting and achieving the goal. This installation is associated with enthusiasm, inspiration. "We can do as much as we know, plus what emotional stress gives us." The creative act is characterized by the interaction of thinking and emotion.

The stage of creative search in accordance with the structural levels contains three phases: the execution of the clause, the sketch-idea and the primary sketching.

During the development of a clause, intuitive thinking works with a variety of input data, but its incomplete reflection occurs in the clause. The purpose of this phase is to obtain a primary figurative representation of the object.

In the sketch-idea, the design model is expressed in the semi-intuitive form of the primary hypothesis. Unclearly conscious separate parts of the thinking process result in the emergence of a plan that takes into account individual facts and conditions. The purpose of the phase is to limit the search area and translate the design into a problem situation.

In the first phase of sketching, the primary hypothesis is tested on draft versions, which serve as the starting point for new searches. Primary screening involves the analysis and synthesis of a number of options. The goal of the phase is to achieve compatibility of all considered requirements and harmony with the environment. Design is a double move - from external to internal and from the inside to the outside.

Thus, the effectiveness of creative search is achieved on the basis of the closest interpenetration and interaction of intellectual and intuitive, logical and emotional, evidentiary and hypothetical, empirical and theoretical, abstract and concrete. Each subsequent phase of the creative search is characterized by the complication of the structural organization of the task - the growth of the orderliness of the solution and the compositional integrity of the project model of the object.
