For information processing at the pre-project stage, a special language tool is used. Relationships of objects and functional relationships between them are displayed on graph-analytical schemes using letter symbolic symbols. The use of abbreviations [10] allows us to represent the structural-composite skeleton of complex objects and phenomena. Cognitive modeling in the form of diagrams, tables serves classification purposes, fixes modifications of the structure of an object when one of its parameters changes, illustrates the flow of the functioning of the object being studied, models the patterns of its development.
The student must master the technique of visualization of information, he learned from the program and the studied literature. Information is converted into formalized flowcharts, interaction matrices, networks, graphs that describe the logical and functional structure of the object, the organization of the processes taking place in it in such a way that you can then proceed directly to the sketching.
The graphical form of information transfer is natural for an architect, since his professional attitude to the world is formed mainly on the basis of vision. Graphic images accompany all stages of design modeling. At the initial stages, crocs, axonometric sketches, perspective sketches from different angles and scale-free drawings in orthogonal projections prevail. Graphic means the student chooses himself, depending on their creative intentions. The conceptual expression of intentions is a special ability to fix our own thinking and creative activity.
In the process of mastering architectural graphics, the student’s compositional thinking develops. Drawings and drawings contribute to the display of the studied literature, the primary figurative associations, the state of the design model, serve to master the method of variant sketching, modeling the perception of the future object, and the communication between students and teachers. Graphic execution of sketches already at the stage of searching for ideas is carried out in generally accepted scales in architectural and construction design. This is necessary to gain experience of correlating a drawing with in-kind [11].
Along with the graphic image of information, the techniques of two-dimensional application, planar overlay of colored paper and prototyping revealing three-dimensional spatial relationships are used.
The value of graphic and layout displays of information is especially great for student architects, since accurate graphical and layout language is their most important professional tool. Schemes and drawings provide additional information coming from the graphic models themselves. Mastering information visualization techniques is part of pre-project analysis.
Plane and volumetric modeling is a means of teaching architectural activity and the method of creative work of an architect. Given the importance of independent work of students, the methodology recommends storing all graphic traces of the design process in a folder, starting from collecting data in the pre-design stage, studying the special literature and consistently advancing the search for ideas, sketches and sketches submitted to the test views. This material provides an opportunity to follow the pace and systematic work of the student on the project.
