The stage of creative development - a long stage of the actual design - begins with the analysis, development and deepening of the creative proposals of the sketch. The project development is promoted by professional logical thinking, internal reflection based on subjective creative experience. There is a lot of uncertainty in the sketch, and already one transition to the enlarged scale requires detailing, clarification and attraction of additional scientific and technical information.
Students whose sketches are approved with comments should make fundamental improvements to the solutions. To avoid wasting time, “frontal” work is organized with all students of the group: it is proposed to outline the dimensions of the projections at the required scale and think over the arrangement of materials on the boards. In the first stage of drawing a project on subframes, the sketch is considered as a relatively stable solution, to which one often has to return (“how was it in the sketch?”). The transition to a large scale determines the further variation of the conceptual design within the boundaries of the decisions taken.
The transition from sketch to project - creative work on the deepening of the plan. The goal of the stage is to achieve internal consistency of interrelated decision areas in the process of developing a project model of the object. Creative development is primarily an intellectual activity in which ideas and the goal of creativity are realized according to the laws of thinking and the rules of logic under the control of intuition. The systems approach requires the involvement of data from the field of building climatology, economics and structures. The more diverse the supporting material, the greater will be the information capacity of the design decision.
The method of successive assignments and approximations. Creative development is carried out at a higher structural level as compared with the previous stages, as it covers all subsystems of the object, regardless of which of them turned out to be decisive for the overall plan. It applies a comprehensive assessment of the state of the object. At this stage, the design is intended to serve the development of the adopted compositional concept. The student has the following tasks: to provide the connection of the object with the external environment, to streamline the interaction of the main and secondary functions, the internal and external spatial structure of the object, to link the constructive concept with the architectural-plastic form, to lead to a modular uniformity of the dimensions of the structures, to provide comfortable conditions for the light mode, favorable visibility , acoustics and microclimate, check the economic feasibility of decisions. Variants that could be particular solutions of the above tasks should be coordinated with each other by means of a compromise - using the method of “successive concessions and approximations”, thanks to which it can be seen what price of which “concession” in one criterion results in a gain in the other.
Design should lead to a composite generalization - functional, visual and aesthetic integrity, organic synthesis of form, structure and material. The compositional intention is revealed in the artistic expressiveness of the object, in the laws of building the external appearance, in the harmonization of forms and proportions.
