The content of the preparatory stage consists in the mental activity preceding the execution of the project. During the preparatory stage, the program requirements, initial data, the most important structure-forming factors, technical and economic criteria are studied, as well as the selection and association of operational information. In order to develop a general design strategy using the AP methodology, it is recommended to carry out a methodological analysis, which is the development of a look at the design object from the angle of the ideological setting (Diagram 6).
Methodological approach determines the fundamental orientation of the study. The “object of research” at the pre-project stage is mainly social and psychological factors. When designing a home, it is the study of the main types of life activity: the satisfaction of physiological needs (sleep, hygiene, nutrition), communication and cultural activities, interfamily intergenerational contact, the upbringing and education of children, professional and amateur activities. When designing public buildings, this is the study of organized processes, communication processes, patterns of environmental perception, etc. At the methodological stage, the study of the program requires the involvement of theoretical concepts that lie outside the students' knowledge and needs to receive special information.
At the pre-project methodological stage, a forecast is made of the processes of activity for which the environment is designed for the purpose of effectively organizing these processes and creating the corresponding spatial environment. For example, a pre-project analysis for the design of a club begins with the disclosure of the problem of the social utility of a new organized space, the consideration of an object as a center of communication, the location of multi-functional activity. Then the question is posed about the relationship of the structural organization of the object with the composition, imaginative characteristics, prospects for the development of this type of public building, etc.
The pre-design stage is the content of the primary educational research work (UIRS). As a result of the analysis of the object of study, the prerequisites for the project activity can be obtained. Theoretical studies are conducted in parallel with the creative process and are focused on choosing the direction in which the solution of the design problem should be sought.
Thus, a transition is made from an abstract representation of an object to a concrete design containing the principle of the solution. The methodological stage stimulates the creative initiative and creates conditions for the formation of the basic concept or target, the theme itself plays a cognitive and constructive role in the creative process.
The deeper and more comprehensive the student conducts a methodological analysis, the more correctly and efficiently he charts the path of project searches, and the more successfully he transforms the results of objective research into a subjective decision.
Increasing the role of the pre-project phase is associated with the strengthening of independent work of students in the classroom and after school hours. This is expressed: in the independent analysis of additional information and the development of a hypothesis and target; in systematic work on periodical literature with sketches and active sketching; in participation in the game design of project situations; performed by clauseur as an independent improvisation; in mastering the method of variant modeling; in self-searching options at the stage of searching for a sketch-idea; in defining the problem and developing options based on additional information within a limited scope of solutions; performed by
at the same time with the sketch of the advance clause; in logical analysis and self-assessment of their decision at the stage of protection of the sketch; in mastering the skills of the abstract description of your project; in active participation in the problem workshop after the delivery of the project.
