When drafting a project on boards, it is necessary to achieve balance of projections that are not uniform in shape and scale: plans, situations, cuts, and facades, taking into account the role of each element of the exposition. During the final period of the educational architectural design, the pencil checks the project status and views the graphic design sketch.
Graphic execution - a means of visual expression of the intention - the compositional and spatial idea of the work - has an emotional and artistic value. Graphic tools should be consistent with the theme of the project and artistic intent; reveal the meaningful meaning of each projection; contribute to the best perception of the project, focusing the viewer's attention on the most informatively important projection (the facade, section or axonometry can be the main thing on the sheet); to be technically perfect.
On junior courses, as a rule, plans and cuts are thinly drawn, sections of walls are filled with black ink, facades are washed with diluted ink. On older courses, the technique of making facades and cuts is varied - drawings are executed in black and white graphics, in a dashed pen style, in gouache, tempera, etc. However, in the design of the facade, the “classical” washing with mascara dominates. With any graphics you need to show artistic taste. The teacher warns students of mannerism and the use of airbrushing, feathering ink, application, from the abuse of color. The manner of performance of perspectives, axonometry and drawings is free. In connection with the introduction of computer technology into the educational process, it is possible to obtain isometric and perspective images from different points; view with the help of a plotter. The use of computer graphics has a great future - this is a new style of execution of an architectural drawing.
Design is accompanied by the implementation of working and finishing layouts. The technique is free.
In the draft design drawings, as a rule, center axes are marked with steps and spans, the sizes of the bindings to the axes of the supporting supports, the chains of external and internal dimensions, and the area of the premises; dimensions and marks are applied on cuts. The drawings are accompanied by explications of the composition of the premises, indicators, required signatures (see the projects of the architectural schools of the Baltic States).
At the completion of the project, a full concentration of the student is needed, which is achieved by organizing days of complete design, when all the students of the course complete projects at the same time. The joint work of the workshop for three days of continuous design has a great educational meaning: direct contact between the teacher-architect and the student is achieved, which is the basis of genuine training and education.
